CONFERENCE CENTER GUEST POLICIES

1.  Individuals and groups using Cross Wind Conference Center facilities are responsible for their own accident and medical insurance.

2.  Smoking is not permitted inside any building.  Smoking is allowed on the back side of the conference center (nearest the pond).  Please dispose of cigarette butts in the "Smoking Outposts".  FOR THE COMFORT OF ALL CROSS WIND VISITORS, SMOKING IS NOT ALLOWED IN FRONT OF THE BUILDING.

3.  Cross Wind is an alcohol/drug free environment.  No alcoholic beverages of any kind or illegal drugs are permitted on the grounds.  Any visible signs of either of these on the grounds will mean loss of your group deposit.  No exceptions to this.

4.  Failure to abide by policies 2 & 3 may mean the loss of your group deposit plus cancellation of future events.

5.  Outside food and beverages may not be brought in to the Conference Center (Kansas Department of Health requirements).  Delicious, freshly prepared snacks and beverages are available for an additional cost as well as vending machines and complimentary coffee, tea, and popcorn (you pop!).  Snacks must be ordered in advance of your reservation.

6.  Only dogs trained to assist persons with a handicap are allowed;  personal pets are not allowed on the grounds.

7.  Damage done to facilities and equipment above normal usage and any missing towels, pillows, bed linens or other items will be charged to your group.

8.  No all-terrain vehicles are allowed on the grounds.  (3/4-wheelers)  Any bicycles or personal recreational vehicles must be monitored.

9.  Your conference room is your personal room to play games, share memorabilia, conduct meetings, sing, worship, etc.  Each conference room has its own climate control.  Plan to store your group's personal items in your conference room and use the tack strips on the wall to hang pictures, posters, and other items.  There will be a $50 charge for damage done to any wall be tape, tacks, or other substances.

10.  Quiet time is observed from 10:30 pm through 7:30 am out of respect for those who wish to sleep, read, and relax.

11.  Main doors at the Conference Center are locked at 9:30 pm and unlocked at 7:30 am.  Guest room keys contain a key to the east motel wing exterior door to enter/exit between those hours.

12.  Fresh bath towels are located in the lower level of the guest room hallway.  Please place soiled towels in receptacle located by the fresh towels.  When vacating your guest room, please do not strip the beds--leave the cleanup to us!

13.  Guest room check-in time is 4:00 pm on arrival day and check-out time is 10:00 am on the day of departure.  Be sure to leave your guest room key at Cross Wind--there is a $5.00 charge for any keys not returned.  A key drop box is located near the office.

14.  Two public telephones and a computer are located in the lobby.  From the telephones you can call 911, toll free or local numbers (prefix 327/951); long distance calls are blocked.  You can purchase a calling card at the office.  Your contact phone number while at the Conference Center is 620-327-2702.  If you have your own computer, we also have wireless internet!

15.  Meal times:  Breakfast--8:00 am; Lunch--12:00 pm; Dinner--6:00 pm.  Exceptions to these times only with prior approval.

16.  The lights above the buffet line will be turned on when the kitchen staff is ready to serve the meal.  Please do not line up to eat until the lights are on.  Tables will be reserved and marked for each group.

17.  Footwear is required in the dining room at all times (Kansas Department of Health requirements).

18.  The swimming pool is in operation from Memorial Day through Labor Day from 10:00 am-9:00 pm.  The pool is to be kept locked when not in use.  Please be advised that Cross Wind does not provide a lifeguard and children 16 years of age and under must have adult supervision.  The camp pool is reserved for children's camp and retreat lodge guests and can be used by guests of the Conference Center when approved by management and when it does not interfere with the children's camp & lodge guest schedule.

19.  Paddleboats are available for use during the daylight hours.  Children 16 years of age and under are required to wear a lifejacket and must have an adult supervising their activity.

20.  In the event of severe weather, the lobby public restrooms OR the lower level guest room hallway are your quickest designated shelter areas.  If time permits, basements are located 1/4 mile east or west at the Mabee Center or the staff home.  We have a siren on the grounds and staff will keep you advised if the weather if threatening.

21.  A first aid kit is located in the dining room in the east wall cupborards near the ladies restroom.  It is clearly labeled.  Nofify Cross Wind Staff if you have an emergency.  An emergency accident report form is in your guest manual and must be completed.

22.  A "guest kit" will be provided to your group to use while at Cross Wind.  Borrowed items should be returned to the box to avoid additional charges.

23.  Any messages for members of your group will be placed on your registration table.  Please check your registration table often.

24. Setup charges of up to $200.00 may apply for any excessive setup needs beyond reasonable needs.

Group Coordinator:  It is your responsibility to make the above information known to members of your group.

RETEAT LODGE GUEST POLICIES

1.  Individuals and groups using Cross Wind Conference Center facilities are responsible for thier own accident and medical insurance.

2.  Smoking is not permitted inside any building.  Smoking is allowed in outdoor areas only.  Please dispose of cigarette butts in the "Smoking Outposts".

3.  Cross Wind is an alcohol/drug free environment.  No alcoholic beverages of any kind or illegal drugs are permitted on the grounds.  Any visible signs of either of these on the grounds will mean loss of your group deposit.  No exceptions to this.

8.  Bed linens should be left on each bed.  Bath linens should be placed in a stack in the shower room.  Please do NOT remove the mattress pads.

9.  Each retreat lodge has its own climate control.  The thermostate is locsated on the outer kitchen wall opposite the kitchen door.

10.  The fireplace instructions are locatd on the fireplace mantel and also in the guest manual.  Please do NOT leave the fire unattended!  The fireplaces are available from Odtober 1-April1.

11.  Public telephones are located in each lodge.  From these phones you can call 911 or local numbers (prefix 327/951) but long distance calls are blocked.  You can purchase a calling card at the office.  Use the instructions posted beside each phone to intercom the conference Center.  Your contact phone number while at the Retreat Lodges and/or Mabee Center is 620-327-2715.

12.  In the event of severe weather, the Mabee Center basement is your designated shelter rea.  You should gather in the SOUTHWEST corner if possible.  We have a siren on the grounds and will keep you aedvised if the weather is threatening.
